Institut National de l’Environnement Industriel et des Risques (INERIS) is a public industrial and commercial establishment, operating under the supervision of the French Ministry of Environment.
The institute conducts research on behalf of public authorities, industrial operators, and public bodies, focusing on the assessment, prevention, and control of risks associated with industrial activities. Over the years, INERIS has developed extensive expertise in environmental risk assessment, supported by its large-scale laboratories and advanced capabilities in digital modeling and risk evaluation.
For the SANE project, INERIS will play a key role in risk analysis and assessment. Building on the general process descriptions provided by CEA, which cover equipment, substances, and reactions, INERIS will define methodologies for the transient phase and provide a comprehensive review of the risk hazards associated with the processes. Additionally, INERIS will contribute to the development of performance indicators as part of its work in WP3.
